Invicta Health is pleased to announce that in 2018 the Primary Care Mental Health Specialist Team will be providing practice placements for both Occupational Therapy and Nursing students who are currently studying at Canterbury Christ Church University.
Placement within PCMHS will offer learning and personal development opportunities that are appropriate to the student current level of theoretical and clinical knowledge, experience and stage of education.
Practitioners within PCMHS will endeavour to develop a working relationship with practice placement students based on upholding high standards of clinical practice and professional respect
Students will be given the opportunity to observe and take part in the process of assessment, learn to rationalise decision made and evaluate treatment options implemented.
Students will be offered the opportunity to benefit from direct observation of their practice to ensure safe practice and negotiate when less direct supervision is appropriate
Students will be able to access learning opportunities that will help them meet the needs of adults experiencing common mental health conditions and develop their knowledge and competencies in this area of clinical practice.
PCMHS is a multi-disciplinary team (MDT). Students will have the opportunity to gain experience working in close contact with professionals outside their area of professional study. To promote MDT mutual respect and understanding of professional collaborative working student will have the opportunity learn from share skills and knowledge.
